Scott and I faced every obstacle we could think of to get to the "I Do's." Even up to the hours before we were to leave to come to Texas, trials continued to challenge us. As we sat in our seats on the airplane, taking in a deep breath, Scott says, "Don't worry Nik, we're on our way now. We should just be thankful because I know from these experiences that we can handle whatever comes our way." He was so right...God has been faithful my entire life, and as I thought back over four parents' illness, financial strife, transferring schools, falls and all--I couldn't think of one human catastrophe that didn't have divine interventions to save us. Time and again, Christ is our Savior.
Once we arrived in Texas, we were overwhelmed with love, support and details! It was an incredible opportunity to have so many people we love in one space, mingling together. Powerful camaraderie was made between different groups and families, connections were made and even new friendships. Eight different states were represented by friends traveling from afar, grade school to grad school and family abundant.
Once we shut the door to the limousine, I remember turning to Scott and feeling warmth and connection. Leaving and cleaving wasn't what I had initially imagined it to be. Instead, it was a new chapter in a book that made me feel deeper connection to the creation story, my family and my future.
Thank you for being by our side and for your support throughout our wedding celebration! Now on to the "work" part...
